Plant dyeing

I started experimenting with making plant dyes more than 25 years ago! I enjoy gathering natural materials for making dye baths, and dye fabric and thread for my work. I gather dandelion flowers, oak leaves, dried daffodil and buddliea flowers, and more, enjoying gathering as I walk. I also buy in some dried plant dye matter from small businesses in the UK.

The process of dyeing is so exciting, using plant matter we can never be sure of the colours we'll get.
